Saving Twitter Videos: A Complete Guide to X Media Extraction
Twitter (now X) is a massive hub for breaking news, viral clips, and memes. However, the platform notoriously compresses video playback based on your network connection, and offers no native way to save videos or GIFs to your camera roll or hard drive.
The KINETIC Advantage for Twitter
When you view a video on Twitter, the platform serves you a dynamic resolution. KINETIC ignores the dynamic player and queries the Twitter API directly to find the absolute highest resolution MP4 file stored on their CDN (often 720p or 1080p).
Extraction Process
- Get the Tweet Link: Click the "Share" icon on the tweet containing the video or GIF and select "Copy Link".
- Input URL: Paste the link into KINETIC.
- Select Resolution: KINETIC will display all available resolutions. Select the highest one (usually marked as "HD").
- Download: The MP4 file will be extracted instantly.
Note: If a tweet contains a GIF, Twitter actually stores it as an MP4 video without sound. KINETIC will download it as an MP4, which is vastly superior in quality and file size compared to a traditional .gif file.
